The Guadalupe Shrine is considered to be the holiest place in the Wester Hemisphere. Indeed, it is venerated to such an extent that then US President John F. Kennedy and French President Charles De Gaulle both took time out during a state visit in Mexico to worship the shrine. Here Pope John Paul preached to the millions of faithful during his unprecendented visit to Mexico.

Itinerary:

Day 1 - (USA/Mexico City)
Early departure for Mexico City. We will be met by our local English speaking guide on arrival and transferred to our hotel. This afternoon is free to discover the many moods of Mexico, perhaps by taking a stroll along the ZONA ROSA (Pink Zone) a 24 block stretch of the finest shops, restaurants and cafes. Or simply relax and enjoy the amenities of our deluxe hotel before our informal orientation and Holy Mass followed by our welcome dinner.

Day 2 - (Mexico City)
After breakfast, we will proceed to the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe to celebrate Holy Mass, then we will board our motorcoach to visit Mexico City's highlights. Zocalo's main square (Plaza Mayor), see the site of Montezuma's Palace - now the national palace that hold Diego Rivera's famous murals; the Metropolitan Cathedral, started in 1753 and took 250 years to complete and yet the largest in North America; Alameda Park, the hill dominated by the Palace of Emperor Maximillian. Continue our tour of the historic Mexico to Plaza Santo Domingo. Here the inquisition held court adn the dominicans built their first church. The church of Santo Domingo (once used as a school of medicine) was founded in 1576 and have 2 shrines - Our Lady of the Rosary, one of the first rosary shrines in Mexico adn Our Lady of Cavadonga, brought to Mexico by the Spaniards. An on to the Chapultepec Park and the wonderful residential districts on the south of the city.

Day 3 - (Mexico City)
After breakfast, we will proceed to the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe for Holy Mass. With deep joy we have come on pilgrimage to this Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the Marian Heart of Mexico and of America to praise and thank God for the gift of the first indigenous saint of the American continent. Saint Juan Diego, help us perceive with favor upon the pain of those who are suffering in body and/or spirit and on those afflicted by poverty, loneliness or ignorance. Then we'll board our motorcoach to visit Mexico City's highlights: the Plaza of the Three Cultures, the Zocalo, the Metropolitan Cathedral and the National Palace, containing the offices of the Presidency and featuring along the walls of its central patio Diego Rivera's stirring mural. On to the impressive National Museum of Anthropology in Chapultepec Park. The museum, world-renowned as the premier source for exploring Mexico's archaeological and cultural make-up, is one of the largest facilities of its kind in the world.

Day 4 - (Guanajuato/San Miguel de Allende)
Early drive to Guanajuato City, considered by many to be the most beautiful colonial city in the Americas, owes its fame and fortune to rich veins of silver and gold discovered by the Spanish many years ago. The whimsical trace of its streets, its peaceful squares Peace Plaza, gardens Union Garden, churches Basilica of Our Lady of Guanajuato and the beauty of its houses and buildings give to Guanajuato City an evocative and romantic touch. Then on to nearby San Miguel de Allende Cradle of Mexican Independence, founded in 1542 by Fray Juan de San Miguel, a Franciscan Monk, Impeccably preserved, San Miguel is dotted with spectacular haciendas and colorful plazas that take you back to golden age of architectural expression. The town's neo-gothic church Parroquia de San Miguel and baroque mansions seem to pierce the sky, bringing you gaze upward as often as forward. At night, the traditional callejoneadas stroll the alleyways, strumming their guitars and serenading with traditional harmonies.

Day 5 - (Santiago de Queretaro)
Santiago de Queretaro was founded in 1531, among bloody battles between native Indian and Spanish conquerors. Under the protection of the Apostle Santiago, who appeared in teh skies in order to seal with his image the cultural mixture of which became the 3rd colonial city of XVIII century. The historic downtown offers the visitors over 460 years of history and tradition through its aqueduct with 74 arches; temples and convents (Convento dela Cruz, Temple and Convent of San Francisco, Royal Convent of Santa Clara); Museums (The Hill of the Bells and the City, Casa dela Zacatecana); mansions (Casa de Ecala, Casa de Don Bartolo) and palaces that make this city one of the most beautiful colonial spots. We will sincerely try not to miss the popular city tour by a lovely two story trolly, a guided visit through the main sites, monuments, legends and most important issue of the city.

Day 6 - (Santiago de Queretaro/USA)
With deep joy we have fulfilled our pilgrimage to this Basilica of Our Lady, the Marian heart of Mexico and of America, plus our visit and/or Holy Masses at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guanajuato, Parroquia de San Miguel and learning the treasures of the colonial cities of Mexico that makes us Think Big, but relish small pleasures.

Transfer to the airport for our flight back home with memories to cherish and assurance that life is a gift!

Reservation & Payments:
A reservation is confirmed only upon receipt of a US$300.00 (per person) deposit.
Full payment is due 90 days prior to departure date.


Cancellations:
All cancellations must be in writing. Deposits are refundable up to 90 days prior to departure with US$50.00 cancellation charge. Cancellations made within 90 days prior to departure are non-refundable. No shows and usused portions are non-refundable as well.


Insurance:
Trip cancellation insurance and medical coverage is available. We strongly recommend it.


Not Included:
Cost of passport, visas, health documents, laundry, insurance, optional sightseeing & items of personal nature such as foor & beverage not on the regular d'hote menu.
