Itinerary:

Day 1 - (New York)
Depart New York on Royal Jordanian Airlines to Amman. Meals on board.


Day 2 - (Jordan)
Arrive Amman, the modern and ancient capital of Hashemic Kingdom of Jordan. Assistance and transfer to our hotel. Short informal orientation, Thanksgiving Mass followed by our Welcome Dinner.

Day 3 - (Amman/Jerusalem)
Situated in the heart of the Middle-East, Jordan is where East meets West. Amman is the modern and ancient capital; formerly the Ammonite capital city of Rabbath-Ammon, and later the Graeco-Roman city called Phildelphia. The city, with its population of over one-million, crowned by the Citadel, a hill with the ruins of the Temple of some 700,000 years ago. At the foot of the Citadel, is the 5,000 seat Roman Amphitheater dating from 151AD and is still use for cultural events. Then, on to Madaba (City of Mosaics), and its fabulous mosaic-filled churches. Drive to Mt. Nebo, where Moses saw the promised land before his death and the Memorial of his burial site. On to Allenby Bridge to Jerusalem.

Day 4 - (Jerusalem/Bethlehem)
Start the day at Mount of Olives, enjoy a panoramic viw of Jerusalem and visit the Church of the Pater Noster, the site where we remember the ascension of the Lord into heaven. Descend on the traditional Palm Sunday road on the way to Dominus Flevit, where Jesus agonized in prayer prior to His betrayal and arrest. Enter the Dung Gate and on to the Western Wailing Wall, where we pause to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and the whole world.. After lunch, group photo at the Haas Promenade. Then to Bethlehem, where we visit the Church of Nativity - traditional birthplace of our Lord Jesus. On to St. Jerome Grotto, where St. Jerome translated the Bible from Hebrew to Latin Vulgate. End the day at the Shepherds Field, where we rejoice in the birth of the Lord with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist and singing of Christmas carols.

Day 5 - (Jerusalem)
Early morning visit to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, site of the tomb of the Lord. Enter St. Stephen Gate and on to Bethesda Pool, where Jesus healed the paralythic man. Continue on foot to the Church of Condemnation and Flagellation, here we begin the VIA DOLOROSA and follow the footsteps of our Lord Jesus on his way to Calvary culminating the journey in Golgotha and the place of the tomb itself. We'll later explore the Arab Shuk (market) in the Old City. after lunch, walk to Mount Zion, to visit the Cenacle - Upper Room, to reminisce the Last Supper and the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles on Petecost. On to Dormition Abbey, site where Mary went to sleep. Celebrate Holy Mass at St. Peter in Gallicantu, the traditional House of Caiaphas where Peter denied Jesus 3 times and where He was kept in a dungeon.

Day 6 - (Bethany/Masada/Qumran/Jericho)
Start the day with the celebration of the Holy Mass in Bethany,hometown village of Mary, Martha and Lazarus, then visit the Tomb of Lazarus. Descend to the Judean Wilderness passing by the Good Samaritan Inn and interesting Bedouin camps. On to Masada Fortress, sit of the most dramatic act in Jewish history when Zealots elected mass suicide rather than submitting to Roman captivity. Travel to Qumran, where the fascinating Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. After lunch, we'll have the opportunity to experience the unique buoyancy of the highly therapeutic waters of the Dead Sea and have the pleasure of the well known healing powers of minerals from the sea's muddy floor, "Mud Bath". then to Jericho, the oldest and Lowest city in the world conquered by Joshua and view the Qaranthal Monastery, the traditional Mount of Temptation - where Jesus was tempted by the devil.

Day 7 - (Caesara/Haifa/Mt. Carmel/Tiberias)
Early departure,proceed to view the very informative and historical Second Temple Period Model of Jerusalem in the time of Jesus. Travel to Ein Kerem, hometown village of John the Baptist and celebrate Holy Mass at the Church of the Visitation, where our Blessed Mother visited Elizabeth. Drive to Caesarea, visit the Roman Theater and Aqueduct built by King Herod The Great. Continue to Haifa and visit Stella Maris located in Mounth Carmel - site where the Prophet Elijah prayed for rain after three and a half year of drought and famine in the land.

Day 8 - (Tiberias/Cana/Nazareth/Mt. Tabor)
First stop is in Cana - we'll celebrate Holy Mass and our fellow married pilgrim couples may renew their marriage vows at the site where Jesus performed His first miracle of changing water into wine. Next stop is Nazareth - visit the Church of the Anunciation, where Angel Gabriel announced to Mary the birth of our Lord Jesus. Then visit St. Joseph Workshop, where winding road to the summit of Mount Tabor, the site of the transfiguration of the Lord.

Day 9 - (Sea of Galilee/Jordan River)
Begin the day in Capernaum, celebrate the Holy Eucharist over the House of St. Peter and later visit Jesus Synagogue. Proceed to Mount Beatitudes, where our Lord preached to the multitudes. On to the Church of the Primary of St. Peter, where Jesus performed the miraculous catch of fish and reinstated Peter. continue on to Tabgha - site of the multiplication of loaves and fish. We'll have the opportunity to taste "St. Peter's Fish" for lunch today. Then on to Ginosor, to see the Jesus Boat - a 2,000 year old fishing boat recently unearthed from the shores of Galilee. We'll enjoy a peaceful boat ride in the Sea of Galilee. Drive to Jordan River, where we end the day with the renewal of our baptismal vows.

Day 10 - (Beit Shean/Jerash/Amman)
Drive to Beit Shean, the most preserved Roman Byzantine city which was under Egyptian rule during the 16th century BC. Proceed to Allenby Bridge, crossing point to re-enter Jordan via Jerash - known as "The Pompeii of the East" for its extraordinary state of preservation. As we approach the city, we'll be greeted by the imposing ripple-arched gateway built to honor the Emperor Harian's arrival in Jerash in AD129. Jerash is considered the best preserved and most complete city of Decapolis, a confederation of ten Roman cities dating from the 1st century BC. We'll wander among the original temples, baths, theaters, plazas and colonnaded streets, all enclosed within the remaining city walls where the remains of settlements dating from the Bronze age, the Irone age, the Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine, Umayyad and abbasid periods, indicating human occupation at this location for more than 2,500 years can be found. Then to our hotel for our Thanksgiving Mass followed by dinner.

Day 11 - (Amman/Petra)
Carved by the thousands of Nabateans for many years, two thousand years ago: Petra, the unique Rose-Red City, is a sight not to be missed. It's magnificent beauty lies in the changing color of its rose stones as the sun playfully sheds its rays. Start our visit (by foot or by horse) into the Siq, that ripped through the rock in a prehistoric quake. Petra's most famous monument - The Treasury, is only the first of Petra's breath-taking sights, appears dramatically at the end of the Siq. This was featured in the final sequence of Indiana Jones - the Last Crusade. It is most unforgettable experience to spend a day watching the sun in the Petra move across the horizon. Back to our hotel for our Thanksgiving Mass and Farewell dinner.

Day 12 - (Jordan/New York)
Holy Mass, breakfast, then checkout, transfer to the airport for our flight back home with memories to cherish and to treasure having experience the BIBLE come to life and having walked in the very footsteps of prophets and of kings and of our Lord Jesus.

Reservation & Payments:
A reservation is confirmed only upon receipt of a US$500.00 (per person) deposit.
Full payment is due 90 days prior to departure date.


Cancellations:
All cancellations must be in writing. Deposits are fully refundable up to 3 1/2 months prior to departure. Cancellations made within 3 months of departure are non-refundable. No shows and usused portions are non-refundable as well.


Insurance:
Trip cancellation insurance and medical coverage is available. We strongly recommend it.


Not Included:
