ITINERARY:
Day 1/ Sunday/ January 8, 2012 (MANILA) A warm MABUHAY - the capital city of the Philippines (the heart and soul) - MANILA. Meeting, assistance and transfer to our hotel. Remainder of the afternoon is at leisure: relax and savor the amenities of our deluxe hotel, or maybe a good time to meet with relatives and friends, and/or maybe best time to justify the existence of Manila as the uncontested shopper's paradise.
Day 2/ Monday/ January 9, 2012 (MANILA/PAGSANJAN FALLS/MANILA) A day trip south of the city, passing through coconut, pineapple and sugarcane plantations.
Destination: Magnificent Pagsanjan Falls and "Shooting the Rapids" - be prepared to board a native canoe skillfully driven by 2 boatmen and maneuvered up streams through rocks and boulders amidst steep gorges and lush tropical vegetation. Take a swim on board a bamboo raft through the falls into a cave right behind its veil of water. (Bring a swim suit or change clothes, you can get very wet) (Buffet Breakfast/Lunch)
Day 3/ Tuesday/ January 10, 2012 (MANILA/MAKATI) Tour of the twin cities. A thousand and one sensations peculiar only in Manila make this city worth visiting again and again. It took its name from a white-flowered mangrove called nilad. By the 16th century, the Spaniards invaded Manila, build a wall around it and claimed it as their own and ruled for about 300 years. Thereafter, came the Americans, Manila thrived and survived. Some of the selected historical and religious landmarks are: Rizal Park, Intramuros, Fort Santiago, San Agustin Church (the oldest stone church in the the city - which has a museum of religious and secular art), Binondo Church (Minor Basilica of San Lorenzo Ruiz, first Filipino Saint), Quiapo (popular for its open market and the Church that enshrines the Black Nazarene - procession day is January 9), The Villages (not rural settlements, but gated communities of the country's wealthiest families) and the financial capital of the Philippines, Makati. Days 4, 5 and 6/ Wednesday, Thursday and Friday/ January 11, 12, 13, 2012 (3 nights and 4 days at PUERTO PRINCESA, PALAWAN) Short flight to Palawan, known as "The Last Frontier". this beautiful stretch of an island is sanctuary to thousands of plant and animal life - from flowers, owls and butterflies; to sharks, crocodiles, bear cats and monkeys; and beautiful forests, caves, waterfalls and beaches.
Tour Highlights: Plaza Cuartel, the Immaculate Conception Cathedral, Palawan Museum, Butterfly Garden, Crocodile Farm, Mitra Ranch and Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm (the only prison in the country without walls). A whole day Honda Bay Island Hopping Tour and a day tour to the UNESCO world heritage site - Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park (Underground River) - one of the 28 finalists for the "New Seven Wonders of Nature" competition. Day 7, 8, 9/ Saturday, Sunday, Monday/ January 14, 15, 16, 2012 (3 nights and 4 days in CEBU) Short flight to Cebu. Meeting, assistance and transfer to our hotel. Afternoon at leisure. Possibility of attending the 8 pm Gala Passionata, a cultural heritage celebration in honor of the Sto. Nino de Cebu at SM Cinema 1, after the welcome dinner.
The image of the Sto. Nino de Cebu (Holy Child of Cebu), the oldest Christian image in the Philippines, is enshrined and venerated at the Basilica of Santo Nino According to Philippine historical documents, the statue was given to the wife of the Rajah of Cebu by the Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan. The friendship is depicted in Cebu's cultural event, the SINULOG FESTIVAL (our Tour Highlight), where street parades and loud drum beats preceded by a Christian Mass is celebrated. Some points of interest in our day city tour are: Casa Gorordo, Fort San Pedro, Cebu City Hall, the Magellan's Cross, Santo Nino Basilica, Carbon Market Area, Taoist Temple, Lapu-lapu Monument among many others. Day 10, 11, 12/ Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday/ January 17, 18, 19, 2012 (2 nights and 4 days in BOHOL) Ferry to Tagbilaran, capital of Bohol. Boholanos refer their province as the Repuplic of Bohol with the conviction and pride. Home province of Philippine 8th President, Carlos P. Garcia. The seat of the 1st International Treaty of Peace and Unity, the Blood Compact (Sandugo). Amazing Chocolate Hills, mounds of limestone formation - 1,776 hills spread over an area of 20 square miles. The Philippine Tarsier, smallest primate in the world, is indigenous to the island.

Day 16, 17/ Monday, Tuesday/ January 23, 24 2012 (2 nights and 3 days in DAVAO) Fly from Caticlan to Davao via Manila. Meeting, assistance and transfer to our hotel. Davao City - then and now is a story of a community carved out of the wilderness. Our day tour of the tourist spots of the city as well as the country side is a getaway to many discoveries involving culture and nature. Day 20, 21/ Thursday, Friday/ January 26, 27, 2012 (2 nights and 3 days in BAGUIO) Early drive in Baguio, via private air-conditioned vehicle and en-route stops. Our day tour of the Philippine's Summer Capital may enhance us of how Baguio, derived from the word bagiw in Ibaloi, the indigenous language of the Benguet Region, meaning "moss", is coping with the global change of temperature. Day 22, 23/ Saturday, Sunday/ January 28, 29, 2012 (2 nights and 3 days in MANILA) Drive back to Manila. Check in at our hotel. A perfect time to pamper "my dear me" to a luxurious health and wellness treatments.
